He Had A Brilliant 15 Year Career In The Nhl Highlighted By The Flyers' Capture Of The Stanley Cup In 1973- 1974 And 1974 - 1975 And His Two Time Selection As First All Star Centre In 1974 - 1975 And In 1975 - 1976; And His 3 Captures Of The Hart Trophy As The League'S Most Valuable Player In 1972-1973, 1974 - 1975, And 1975 - 1976. He Left As The Team'S All-Time Leading Scorer With 358 Goals And 852 Assists For 1,210 Points. He Retired As A Player On May 15,1984, And Was Appointed Vice-President And General Manager Of Philadelphia Flyers. He Was Inducted Into Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame In 1987 |

In 1901 They Defeated The Montreal Vics For The Stanley Cup.Over The Next Seven Years, With Bain As Captain For Three Of Them, The Winnipeg Vics Played In 4 Challenge Rounds, Lost In Montreal And Winnipeg, But In 1901 Defeated The Montreal Shamrocks For The Cup. He Died August 15,1962. Winner Canadian Trapshooting Championship |

Although He Weighed Only 155 Lbs He Moved With Speed And Grace And Was Called "Smooth As Silk". His Appearance And Deportment Were Exemplary On And Off The Ice. In His Entire Career He Never Spent More Than 24 Minutes In The Penalty Box During A Season. He Played With The Selkirk Juniors In 1917 And 1918, Moving Up To Selkirk Seniors, Who Went On Tothe Western Canadian Championship. He Moved To Calgary In 1920 To Play In The Western League Until 1926 When He Was Sold To Boston Bruins. He Played On A Stanley Cup Winner In 1928-1929, And Was Traded To Americans In 1934, And Remained 3 More Years. During His Pro Career Oliver Scored 218 Goals And Had 144 Assists - 91 And 49 With Calgary Tigers Of Whl, 127 And 95 In The Nhl |
