A Ruling From Revenue Canada Said That Because The Sale Was Agreed To Before June, The Deal Was Exempt From The New Tax Levy, Which Would Have Amounted To Federal Sales Tax Of $20 - $34 Million. The Province Told Revenue Canada It Had Agreed To Purchase The Utility, But A National Energy Board Hearing Was Told Last Summer That A Deal Had Not Been Reached.
