George Mccord, Tailor, Was Listed In City Directories At The Above Location From 1917 To 1930, And Johanna Good, Lady Barber, From 1912 To 1944. The Sign In Her Window Advertised Ladies' "Buster" Haircuts At 50 Cents, So She Apparently Catered To Women As Well As Supplying Shaves And Haircuts For Male Customers |

The Light Fixtures Are Interesting As Well As The Wood Work Over The Barbers' Counter. The Clarendon Hotel Was Built In March 1886 As The Mckenzie Hotel, Named For Its Owner, D.E. St. Jean Mckenzie, Who Was Previously A Steward At The Leland Hotel. The Mckenzie Hotel In 1886 Was Located Far Out Of Town When It Opened. In 1905 The Mckenzie Was Taken Over By E.C. Bunnell And Renamed The Clarendon. Mr. Bunnell Made The Hotel Into One Of The Most Luxurious Hotels In The City. Originally It Was Five Storeys High But After A Fire It Became Only Two Storeys High |
